William G. Hammer
President

Bill is the founder and President of Vanderbilt Partners.  With over 30 years of experience in providing financial advice, he leads our clients with a deep understanding of the industry and a wealth of knowledge related to retirement planning, portfolio management, and charitable giving.  His unique insights are the result of a diverse career that began at Merrill Lynch in 1977, and continued at Smith Barney and then Janney Montgomery Scott.

Seven years ago, he made the move to the independent Vanderbilt Securities, LLC because of the flexibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurial spirit that the firm nurtures.  After receiving numerous professional awards from his previous employers for his excellence in the field, Bill continues to be a top advisor for Vanderbilt Securities, LLC.

For over 25 years, he has traveled internationally, teaching Christian and family values in North America, Central America, South America, and Africa for the New Apostolic Church.

Bill Hammer, Jr., is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional at Vanderbilt Partners, an independent wealth management firm that does holistic financial planning for high net worth individuals, families, and non-profit organizations.  He collaborates with other trusted advisors, such as accountants or attorneys, to make sure that every aspect of his clients’ overall financial picture is working toward achieving all that is important to them.

Bill’s passion for his profession has inspired him to write a book on wealth management, which will be published in late 2011 or early 2012.  He is also an ongoing contributor to Financial Advisor Publications, and he has written 11 articles for that the magazine since 2010.

Before joining the financial industry, Bill had a very successful career in music during which he won two Grammy awards at the age of 25, guest conducted domestically and internationally, was published in a prominent choral music textbook, and lead some of nation’s most elite summer choral music programs for high school students.
